With the journal Forum Kinder- und Jugendsport (Children’s and Youth Sport Forum - FKJS), dsj promotes dialogue between research and practice in the context of children’s and youth sport in politics, academia and society. The journal provides a top-class and quality-oriented platform for experts in children’s and youth sport, both from academia and sports practice. Its thematic focuses are the educational potential of sport that is associated with children’s and youth sport as distinct from youth elite sport and PE lessons.
Specialist articles from the practice of children’s and youth sport include, for example, project reports, conceptual articles or topic-specific statements and interviews with experts. These articles and the supplementary rubrics are coordinated by the editorial staff of German Sports Youth. With its interdisciplinary approach, “Forum Kinder- und Jugendsport” is aimed at voluntary and full-time employees in the area of children’s and youth sport, researchers with a focus on children’s and youth sport, and people involved in drawing up sports, education and youth policy. The journal is published by German Sports Youth (dsj) and the researchers in the dsj-research network. The research articles are published in an online first process. An open access publication is possible.
